(Walnut, CA) With a six-run explosion in the second inning, East Los Angeles College (16-19, 13-6) cruised to a 7-1 South Coast Conference win over host Mt. San Antonio College (16-19, 7-12) on Tuesday, April 18.

CJ Ontiveros (2-4), Blake Hagerty (2-4), Gibby Morales (1-4, R), and Elijah Pelayo (1-4, RBI) accounted for the Mounties' offense. In addition, Travis Hobbensiefken and Jose Marquez stole bases for Mt. SAC.

Starting pitcher Michael Flores (3-3) suffered the loss, throwing 3.1 innings, and allowing six runs (all earned), while striking out four.

Game 2 of the three-game series with the Huskies will take place in Monterey Park on Thursday, April 20, at 2:30 p.m. and Game 3 will be in Walnut on Saturday, April 22, at 12 p.m.
