Mounties squander lead against Golden West in third consecutive loss

(Huntington Beach, CA) In another come-from-behind scenario, host Golden West (7-11) overcame a 3-1 deficit with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, which proved to be enough in a 5-3 victory over Mt. SAC (8-10) on Thursday, May 13.

Cole Jordan (2-4, 2B, 2 RBI, SB), Caleb Ellis (1-4, 2B, R), Fabian Moran (1-3, 2B), and Sebastian Garcia (1-5, RBI) sparked the Mounties' offense.

Damian Torres (0-2) got the loss, pitching 0.1 innings and giving up one earned run in relief. Starter Michal Ortega pitched five innings, gave up two runs (one earned), and struck out four.

The teams will wrap up their four-game series with a doubleheader on Friday, May 14, at Mt. SAC. First pitches are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no spectators are allowed.
