Mt. SAC Head Athletic Trainer, Bill Ito, Named to 2016 US Olympic Track & Field Medical Staff

(Indianapolis, INMt. SAC Head Athletic Trainer, Bill Ito was officially named to the 2016 US Olympic Track and Field Staff.  Ito is considered by many to be one of the premier athletic trainers in the world.  He has previously served on nine other USA Track and Field (USATF) National Team Delegations, including two World Championship Teams and three World Junior Championship Teams.  This month he will also serve as an Athletic Trainer for the US Team at the 2016 World Indoor Championships, which will be held from March 17th to 20th in Portland, Oregon.

Ito has also served USA Track and Field as the Medical Director of the National Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nevada.  The Summit is the largest gathering of pole vaulters, pole vault coaches and fans with over 3,000 attendees, including many of the top pole vaulters in the world. 

“Bill is big reason why many of the world’s top vaulters attend the Summit,” replies USATF High Performance and Development, Men’s and Women’s National Pole Vault Chair, Brian Yokoyama.  “He is respected and admired amongst elite athletes throughout the world.  His cutting edge techniques and knowledge has helped many of our elite vaulters with their medical issues which has allowed them to recover faster.”

The Track and Field Events of the 2016 Rio De Janeiro (Brazil) Olympic Games will be held from August 12th through the 21st.
