Women's Cross Country captures top spot at Oxnard Invite

(Oxnard, CA) The Mt. San Antonio College Women's Cross Country team captured the top spot at the 2022 Oxnard Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 9. The Mounties had a team score of 24 points, while Glendale College tallied 56 and Oxnard College finished with 78 to place second and third, respectively.

Twelve Mountie runners finished in the top 30, including five in the top 10. Mt. SAC's Hannah Brown claimed the top spot in the field of 51 with a time of 19:40.2 on the 5-kilometer course. Ingrid Tamayo (20:06.4, 4th place), Cassandra Apahidean (20:10.9, 5th), Shandy Moore (20:25.5, 8th), and Karla Galvan (20:44.5, 10th) rounded out the top-t0 finishes for the Mounties.

The Mounties will compete in the University of California at Riverside Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8 a.m.
