Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball closes out regular season with SCC win at Cerritos

(Norwalk, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (17-9, 11-5) remained undefeated in November with a tightly contested 3-1 South Coast Conference win over host Cerritos College (13-8, 8-8) on Friday, Nov. 10. The victory pulled the Mounties into a three-way tie for second in the SCC standings with Long Beach City College (17-5, 11-5) and Pasadena City College (18-8, 11-5) to close out the regular season. Rio Hondo College (20-4, 15-1) finished in first.

The Falcons took the lead early on Friday by winning the opening game, 25-22, but Mt. SAC battled back to take the next three, 31-29, 25-23 and 25-14.

Several Mounties helped spark the victory, including Andrea Brewer (13 kills, 19 digs), Candace Ceballos (12 kills, 17 digs, three service aces), Melissa Polich (12 kills, six digs), Zyra Green (11 kills), Brooke Olivas (nine digs) and Capri Salmon (20 digs, 40 assists).

Mt. SAC now awaits pairing announcements for the 3C2A Southern California Regional playoffs, which get underway on Saturday, Nov. 18.
