Mountie Women's Track & Field shines at Mt. SAC Relays

(Walnut, CA) At the community college portion of the 2024 Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday, April 13, competitors from Mt. San Antonio College finished in the top three of the meet's 19 events—nine in first, seven in second, and eight in third.

Leila Champion (100 meters), Yasmeen Delgado (800 meters), Brenna Butler (3000 steeplechase), Katherine Porter (high jump), Sophia Perez (pole vault), Summer Stevenson (long jump), Exacte Kamba (triple jump), Kyra Miedecke (javelin), and the 4x400 relay team (Tatiana Sprock, Kahlai Cruser, Alyssah Johnson, Delgado) captured first-place for the Mounties.

Second-place Mt. SAC performances came from Malani Johnson (javelin), Astrid Teran (pole vault), Kamba (high jump), Elyssa Gonzales (3000 steeplechase), Alyssah Johnson (400 hurdles), Amaliyah Smith (100 hurdles), and Cruser (400 meters).

Sprock (400 meters), Cruser (800 meters), Shandy Moore (1500 meters), Emily Johnson (100 hurdles), Carlota Romay Rega (400 hurdles), Bailie Horton (pole vault), Shannon Gaitan (pole vault), and Kamba (long jump) accounted for the Mounties' third-place finishes.

The Mounties will now prepare for the South Coast Conference Prelims on Tuesday, April 23, and the SCC Finals on Saturday, April 27. Both competitions will take place at El Camino College.
