Katherine Porter leads Mt. SAC Women’s Track and Field team at Concordia Invite; Mounties win five events

(Irvine, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Track and Field team took home the most first-place finishes in the annual Concordia University Golden Eagles Invitational Thursday through Saturday, February 15-17 in the first big meet of the season.

Competing against five universities, one club team, and three community colleges, the Mounties took home five firsts, with two of the events – High Jump and Long Jump – won by freshman Katherine Porter.

In addition to Porters' two firsts, sophomore Natalyn Membreno won the mile by 12 seconds over her nearest competitor and freshman Amaliyah Smith won the 60 Hurdles.

The fifth first-place finish came from sophomore Sophia Perez in the Pole Valut.

Other results were Emily Johnson (High Jump), 2nd; Kahlai Cruser (600), 4th; Membreno (600), 5th and the Mt. SAC 4 X 400 Relay team (4th) consisting of Leilani Barcenas, Hannah Faust, Priscella Gomez and Brittany Widerburg.

Mt. SAC will host the Ron Kamaka Invitational this Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 22-24.
