Mountie Women's Track and Field takes first in 12 events at Mt. SAC Relays

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. San Antonio College Women's Track and Field team tallied 12 first-place, four second-place, and seven third-place finishes at the 63rd Annual Mt. SAC Relays (Community Colleges) on Saturday, April 8.

Amari Weatherford (100 meters, 200 meters), Jaiden Hill (400 meters), Natalyn Membreno (800 meters), Hannah Brown (1500 meters), Karla Galvan (5000 meters), Delayshia Allen (100 hurdles), the 4x100 relay squad (Weatherford, Hill, Tatiana Sprock, Charisma Collins), the 4x400 relay squad (Weatherford, Collins, Sprock, Hill), Bailie Horton (pole vault), Ahnyx Bush (long jump), and Sahira Lepes Sanchez (hammer) accounted for the Mounties' first-place honors.

Second-place performances came from Sahira Lepes Sanchez (discus), Faythe Berge (pole vault), Membreno (1500 meters), and Hill (200 meters).

Fernanda Degollado (800 meters), Claudia Vera (1500 meters), Jordan Garcia (400 hurdles), Shannon Gaitan (pole vault), Summer Stevenson (long jump), and Sahira Lepes Sanchez (shot put) took third in their respective events.

The Mt. SAC Relays continue on Thursday, April 12, and run through Saturday, April 15. The Mounties will then compete in the South Coast Conference Prelims at Cerritos College on Tuesday, April 25, and the SCC Conference Finals, also at Cerritos College, on Saturday, April 29.
