Former Mt. SAC High Jumper, Janiece Camacho Passes Away At Age 24

(Walnut, CA) With deepest regret, the Mt. SAC Athletics Department announces the passing of former track and field student-athlete, Janiece Camacho (age 24).  Janiece, a high jumper, competed for the Mounties during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.  She placed 7th in conference and qualified for the Southern California Championships during both seasons.

"Janiece was a wonderful person," states Doug Todd, Mt. SAC's Head Track and Field Coach.  "She never missed practice and always came with a smile on her face.  We will truly miss her."

A graduate of Mt. SAC (A.A. Degree in Kinesiology) and Rim of the World High School, she attended Walnut Schools during her childhood.  At the time of her passing, she was living in Reno, attending the University of Nevada, Reno.

Funeral services for Janiece will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 1:00 pm, at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arrowhead.
