Mounties finish second at the 36th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational; Barreto wins 3 Meter Diving event

(Walnut, CA) With multiple top 10 finishes, the Mt. SAC Women's Swim team placed second behind Sierra College in the 36th Annual Mt. SAC Invitational Saturday, Feb. 26 at the Marie T. Mills Aquatics Center.

The lone first-place finisher was Journey Barreto in the 3 Meter Diving event. In addition, she placed second in the 1 Meter.

Melissa Chavez finished second in the 100 Individual Medley and was in the top 10 in her other four events – 200 Breaststroke (5th), 50 Breast (5th), 100 Breast (6th) and 400 IM (7th).

Laila Topinio was third in both the 1650 Freestyle and the 200 Backstroke, while Lexis Brattain finished third and fourth in the 100 Back and 50 Back, respectively.

The Mountie relay teams were second in both the 400 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay and finished third and fourth in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay, respectively.

Friday, March 4, the Swim team travels to El Camino College for a double dual against Pasadena City College and host El Camino.
