Mountie Women's Soccer dominates L.A. City to pick up SCC North win

(Los Angeles, CA) With a balanced offensive attack, Mt. San Antonio College (10-2-1, 3-0) cruised to a 6-0 South Coast Conference North Division win over host Los Angeles City College (0-13, 0-3) on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Each of the Mounties' goals were scored by different players.

Kristin Mijares scored Mt. SAC's first goal on an assist from Jasmine Delgado in the 7th minute, followed by a goal from Mariela Garcia (Kathryn Davis assist) in the 42nd minute to account for the Mounties' first-half scoring.

In the second half, Gabriella Sanchez (Mijares assist) connected in the 48th minute, and then Veronica Aquino (Vivian Lopez assist) did the same in the 60th minute. In the 68th minute, Davis (Natalia Reyes assist) scored, then Alex Allen (Elena Ochoa assist) concluded the game's scoring in the 87th minute.

Mt. SAC's defense kept LACC from making any shots on goal.

Ranked No. 3 in the most recent California Community College Sports Information Association state poll, the Mounties return to action at No. 5 Long Beach City College (8-0-3, 3-0) in an SCC crossover game on Friday, Oct. 13, at 6 p.m.
