(Fresno, CA) In a clash of the state's top-ranked teams, No. 1 Mt. San Antonio College defeated No. 2 and defending state champion Fresno City College, 29-14, at the 2023 Dual Team State Championship in Fresno on Sunday, Nov. 19. The title is the fourth in Mt. SAC program history, the last coming in 2021.

Taking seven out of 10 matches against the Rams, the victorious Mountie wrestlers included Adrian Limon (125 lbs.), Chris Calderon (133 lbs.), Zachary Parker (141 lbs.), Alex Ramirez (157 lbs.), Caidence Turner (165 lbs.), Nathan Cruz (174 lbs.) and Jesse Herrera (184 lbs.).

"This win feels good," said Mt. SAC head coach David Rivera. "Our guys worked hard for it. Hopefully, they'll continue to work hard and see where we're at. Individually, we do have a lot of guys out there who can win. We'll find out how we do at the end."

The Mounties return to action at the 3C2A Southern Regionals at Palomar College on Saturday, Dec. 2.
