Mt. SAC’s Precious Saelee Tied for Sixth in CCCAA State Golf Championship

(Morro Bay, CA) After Day 1 of the California Community College Athletic Association State Women's Golf Championship, Mt. SAC golfer Precious Saelee is only five strokes off the lead, after carding a 3-over-par (75) at the Morro Bay Golf Course Sunday (Nov.17).

The two-day, 36-hole state tourney concludes Monday (Nov. 18) with a shotgun start.

Saelee, who was the Orange Empire Conference Player of the Year and finished third in the So Cal Championships, is tied for sixth with Katie Stribling of Saddleback College. The two OEC players battled each other for the top spot in conference all season.

Mt. SAC's other two state qualifiers were Katherine Chan, who carded an 83 and Cristina Liu with a 92. 

College of the Canyons (306), which won the CCCAA So Cal's last week, took a Day 1 lead in the championships. They were led by teammates Haruka Koda (70) and Jessie Lin (71) at the top of the leaderboard as Day 1 medalists.
