(Walnut, CA) Eighteen wins in a row and counting for the Mt. SAC Women's Basketball team led them to an overwhelming, 84-58, win over visiting East Los Angeles College on Wednesday, February 14 in a South Coast Conference North game.

Trailing by a point, 33-32, entering the second half, the Mounties poured it on and outscored the Huskies, 52-25, and won going away for the 26-point win.

With the win, Mt. SAC improved to 22-2 overall and 5-0 in the SCC North.

"We weren't following the game plan in the first half, and it showed in the scoring," said freshman forward Aanisah Moncrief (6-10 FGM-A, 7 RB), of the first half for the Mounties.

"We're trying to get to a championship and if we follow (coach Brian Crichlow) plan, everything will be alright."

Sophomore Dailani Richardson (4-6 FTM-A, 6 RB, 5 A) led the Mounties with 17 points, while Daisia Mitchell (8 RB, 5 A) added 15.

Three other Mounties - Carley Bolden (2-3 3 PM-A, 7 RB, 7 A), Isabella Roderick (4-7 FGM-A, 5 RB), and Asia Gibson (3-5 FGM-A, 2-2 FTM-A) - scored nine points each.

Nineteen seconds into the third quarter, Moncrief scored a basket on a layup for the 34-33 lead and the Mounties never trailed again.

They went on a 14-4 run, led by a pair of baskets from Mitchell and Moncrief.

The fourth quarter was more of the same, as the Mounties nearly doubled up in the scoring, 25-13, to finish off the Huskies.

Mt. SAC travels to Pasadena City College (16-9, 5-1) for a crucial SCC North game on Friday (Feb. 16).
