(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team continues to dominate women's community college basketball and remains the number one team in the state with a 16-1 record.  This season the Mounties have captured four of the five tournaments they have participated in.  

The Mounties have been led by sophomore guard, Gina Henderson, who has averaged 14.1 points per game, while shooting 44.3% from the field and 83.3% from the free throw line.  Henderson also has accounted for 35 assists and 46 steals.  Along with Henderson, freshman guard, Caira Benton, has put up some impressive numbers including 32 steals, 25 assists and 122 rebounds, while averaging 9.8 points per game and shooting 45.8% from the field.

On December 29th, the Mounties defeated Long Beach City College to win the Colleen Riley Holiday Invitational (Fullerton College Tournament) 67-59.  Caira Benton was named tournament MVP and named to the all-tounament along with guard, Amari Terry and forward Jonnae Vermillion.  

The Mounties travel to El Camino this Wednesday at 5:00 pm and will return home on Friday, to take on Cerritos College at 5:00 PM.
