(Walnut, CA) - The Mt. SAC Women's Basketball Team battled a persistent Palomar College to come away with a 60-54 win, and advance to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Basketball Tournament held at Cerritos College March 14th & 15th

The Mounties once again utilized balance scoring and their pressure defense to beat the #5 Seeded Comets. Priscilla Lopez led all Mountie scorers with 10 points, making 4 of 4 free throws down the stretch, to ice the victory. The Youngblood twins, Lashanique and Sashanique garnered 9 points apiece. Lashanique also pulled down 8 rebounds for the Mounties. The defense held Palomar to 37% shooting from the floor and forced 31 turnovers in the game.

Next up for Mt. SAC will be San Joaquin Delta College, who defeated the #1 Seed from the North, College of the Sequoias. The two teams met earlier in the season with Mt. SAC defeating the Mustangs 66-52.

Game time is 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 14th at Cerritos College. The Mounties are 33-0 and make their 14th appearance at the State Tournament, since 2001.
