Mt. SAC Softball extends winning streak to 11 games after shutting out El Camino, 5-0

(Torrance, CA) Freshman pitcher, Miranda Rodriguez, continues her unbeaten streak of 10 wins this season, as she threw for seven innings, striking out hitters and allowing only three hits against the opposition.

Mt. SAC's record in the conference improves to 17-1, and their overall record becomes 28-5. The team had eight players who landed hits in the game, with sophomore Olivia Ortiz being the standout with two RBIs. The team's scoring started in the fourth inning when freshman third baseman, Janis Espinoza, hit a single that allowed Mireya Amezcua to score, giving them a 1-0 lead.

The team continued to dominate in the fifth inning, when Ortiz hit a two-run single, giving the team a comfortable 3-0 lead. They added one run each in the sixth and seventh innings, finishing with a convincing 5-0 win over El Camino.
