After Canyons cut the lead in half, 2-1, in the top of the third, sophomore first baseman Aimee Rodriguez (John Burroughs HS) hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring sophomore left fielder Danielle Jeffress (Kaiser HS) for the 3-1 lead.

Kennedy-Cummings, who scattered six hits and struck out six, kept Canyons out of the scoring column the last four innings for the win.
