Four Top-10 Finishes Help Mounties Men's Cross Country Take First at Brubaker Invitational

(Irvine, CA) Four Mt. SAC runners captured top-10 finishes at the Brubaker Invitational at Irvine Regional Park on Friday, helping the Mounties to take first place in the meet with 35 points. Riverside (67 points) and San Bernardino Valley (105) finished in second and third place, respectively.

With a time of 20:44.0, Daniel Abdala was the first Mt. SAC runner to cross the finish line, placing second in a field of 187 on the four-mile course. Lorenzo Orozco came in third place, clocking in at 20:51.9. Vicente Huerta (sixth place, 21:04.7) and Bryce Butler (10th, 21:11.2) rounded out the top-10 finishers for the Mounties.

In total, Mt. SAC had nine top-40 finishers on the day.

Ranked second in the State and Southern California Regional 5CTCA rankings, the Mounties will next participate in and host the Mt. SAC Invitational on Friday, October 18.
