Mt. SAC Men’s Swimming Remains Perfect in SCC with Wins over Cerritos and PCC

(Walnut, CA) Another dominant performance by the Mt. SAC Men's Swimming team continues its unbeaten streak with two decisive victories against Cerritos and Pasadena City Colleges in South Coast Conference action on Friday, March 15, at the Mountie pool complex. The men won all 12 individual events and both relays, winning over Cerritos (225-34) and PCC (226-25), to remain undefeated in conference at 4-0.

Leading the way for the Mounties with three individual wins was sophomore swimmer Samuel Slezak, clinching first place in the 200 Freestyle, 100 Free, and the 500 Free. He also contributed to the first-place finish in the 400 Meter Relay team alongside Pedroche, Slezak, Gillooly, and Chun.

Additionally, three other swimmers claimed victories in two individual events each – Markus Stegbuchner (100, 200 Breaststroke), Jason Matsuda (200 Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley), and Eric Yeh (100 Back, 100 Fly). Securing one event each were freshman Ray Chun (50 Free), sophomore Kevin Poma (1000 Free), and Luke Pedroche (200 Back).

Furthermore, the Mounties won the 200 Medley Relay race with Pedroche, Yeh, Stegbuchner, and Chun.

Mt. SAC continues its SCC action with another double on Friday, March 22, against Chaffey and hosts East Los Angeles.
