Mt. SAC Men’s Swimming & Diving in First at SCC Championships on Day One

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Men's Swimming & Diving Team took aim at its fifth consecutive title at the South Coast Conference Championships on Day one of the three-day event at the Marie T. Mills Aquatic Center on Thursday.

The Mounties ended day one with 197 points, just 10.5 ahead of second-place El Camino.

Leading the way for the Mounties with first-place finishes was freshman Jason Harary in the 200 M Individual Medley (1:54.31) and the Mounties 200 Freestyle Team (1:28.45).

Members of the winning relay team were Eric Amancio, Zach Anaya, Spencer Chlebowski and Zach Justus.

Finishing second behind Harary in the 200 IM was teammate Ryan Lin with a time of 1:57.60 and sophomore Alex Neoh (2:03.33) was fourth.

In the 50 Free, three Mounties finished in the top 10 with the highest placer being Justus (21.86) in fourth, followed by Anaya (22.29) and Amancio (22.35) in sixth and seventh respectively.

Chlebowski, Mt. SAC's distance specialist, was fourth in the 500 Free (4:52.34) and Victor Urias (4:58.70) was ninth.

In the only other men's relay of day one, Mt. SAC finished second in the 400 Medley (3:37.30) with Harary, Lin, Neoh and Anaya.

The first of two diving events were completed with Justus (104 pts) and Joseph Haddad (83.45) finishing in fourth and sixth respectively in the 3-Meter board.

On Friday, five more individual finals, two relays and the 3-Meter Diving finals will take place on day two.
