Mt. SAC Men’s Soccer Defeats Cerritos, 3-1

(Walnut, CA) A 3-1 win over visiting Cerritos kept a six-game unbeaten streak alive for the Mt. SAC Men's Soccer team in South Coast Conference crossover action on Tuesday, October 24.

With the win, Mt. SAC improves to 6-4-7 overall and 4-1-2 in the SCC North (second place), while Cerritos slips to 9-5-3 and 3-2-2 in the SCC South (second place tie).

The Mounties will travel to SCC North first-place Rio Hondo (8-7-3, 5-2) on Friday, October 27.

Mt. SAC sophomore forward Frank Gonzalez led with a goal and an assist in the game.

Sophomore goalie Daniel Ramirez recorded five saves on six shots for the Mounties.

Freshman midfielder Allan Rosales opened the scoring for the Mounties in the 14th minute, with an assist from sophomore midfielder Jason A. Garcia.

The Falcons tied the game 1-1 with a goal in the 31st minute.

Early in the second half (51st minute), Gonzalez gave Mt. SAC a 2-1 lead with an unassisted goal.

Sophomore forward Ernesto Figueroa-Lopez (Frank Gonzalez) put the game away in the 85th minute for the Mounties.
