Mountie Men's Soccer snaps four-game winless streak with SCC crossover win at L.A. Harbor

(Wilmington, CA) Mt. San Antonio College (3-4-5, 1-1) snapped its four-game winless streak with a 3-1 South Coast Conference crossover victory over host Los Angeles Harbor College (4-5-2, 1-1) on Friday, Oct. 6.

The Mounties got on the board early when Rafael Avalos scored on an assist from Alexander Mejia in the 13th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. The score remained the same until the 54th minute when Victor Fregoso connected on an assist from Edgar Silva. In the 80th minute, the Seahawks scored to cut Mt. SAC's lead to 2-1, but Diego Marchan (Avalos assist) sealed the win for the Mounties with a goal in the 89th minute.

In 90 minutes, Mt. SAC goalie Edson Mendez had two saves.

The Mounties begin SCC North Division play at Los Angeles City College (4-7-1, 2-0) on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 4:30 p.m.
