Castro scores two goals in 3-0 win over El Camino

(Walnut, CA) And the streak reaches six for the CCCSIA No. 5 Mt. SAC Men's Soccer team with a 3-0 shutout win over visiting El Camino (No. 4) Tuesday (Oct. 12) in a South Coast Conference game.

During the streak, the Mounties have allowed five goals and have two shutouts.

With the win, Mt. SAC improves to 8-1 overall and is 3-0, and sits atop the standings in the SCC North Division. El Camino, which is in the SCC South slips to 10-2 and 1-2.

Mounties freshman forward Edward Castro scored twice in the first half in the 25th (Andrew Vazquez) and 43rd (Andre Ramos) minutes and assisted on the third goal by freshman forward Andrew Vazquez (83rd minute).

Castro, with his two goals, leads the team with five.

Mt. SAC goaltender Jacob Cardenas, who won his sixth game, recorded his second shutout of the season and saved five shots in the game.

The Mounties continue SCC action with Pasadena City College (4-10, 0-3) Friday (Oct. 15) at Mt. SAC. The game time is 5:00 pm.
