Mt. SAC Men's Basketball comes up short against L.A. Southwest

(Walnut, CA) In a South Coast Conference crossover game, host Mt. San Antonio College came up short. 69-67, as Los Angeles Southwest College (12-6) handed the Mounties their second loss of the season on Friday, Jan. 19.

Trailing 61-51 with 3:56 to play, Mt. SAC (16-2) went on a 16-8 run to pull within two, 69-67, on a layup by Jon McCullough with six seconds to play, but it proved too little.

The Mounties' Nick Hopkins led all players with 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to tie with two others as game-highs, including teammate CJ Fisher (seven points).

Mt. SAC will begin its SCC North Division schedule at Los Angeles City College (4-14) on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m.
