(Walnut, CA) - The Mt. San Antonio College Men's Basketball Team came up short in Wednesday's game against No. 8 Long Beach City College, 72-75, in the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Regional Semifinal.

The number one seed and host Mounties were led by Malcolm Whittington's 17 points off the bench.  Blake Hamilton (15 points), Shannon Fowler (12 points) and Stephaun Branch (11) were all in the double digits, but it wasn't enough for the Mounties who were looking to make another deep run in the playoffs.

The Mounties trailed most of the first half, but with no time left on the clock, Whittington drained a 3-pointer to give the Mounties a 33-30 lead at the half.  In the second half with 15:58 remaining, the Vikings retook the lead, 39-37.  Mt. SAC regained the lead, 55-53, with 7:21 left, but that would be the Mounties last lead of the game, as the Vikings pulled away for the win.

The Mounties Men's Basketball Team finishes the 2015 season with an amazing 27-2 overall record and a South Coast Conference Championship.  Congratulations to Coach Clark Maloney, his staff and players for another great season!
