(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Football Team has received the number two ranking in the 2014 JC Football/JC Gridiron Preseason Football Poll.  The Mounties finished last season with a 9-2 overall record.  The only team ranked higher than the Mounties is last years defending national champion East Mississippi Community College, which makes the Mounties the team to beat in California.

The Mounties will begin their tough 2014 season on the road against College of the Canyons, on Saturday, September 6, at 6:00 pm.  This first home game will be on September 13th (game time 6:00 pm) against last years Southern California Champion and State Runner-Up, Fullerton College.

Since taking over the team ten seasons ago, Head Coach Bob Jastrab has turned the Mounties into one of the most dominant teams in the state, capturing 2 national championships, 2 CCCAA State Championships and 5 Southern California Championships.  In only his tenth season, Jastrab could accomplish what few coaches have ever done, eclipse 100 wins in this short period of football time.  His current overall record (9 seasons) stands at 93 wins and 18 losses, with a winning percentage of .838.
