(Long Beach, CA) The Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball team has continued their winning streak, claiming 18 consecutive victories after an early season loss. In South Coast Conference action, the Mounties swept host Long Beach City College 4-1, and Rio Hondo 5-0. Rosie's Dog Beach was the site of the double dual hosted by LBCC.

With a state-best 20-1 overall record and a perfect 7-0 conference record, the Mounties have two regular season matches remaining. These matches, on April 21st, will also mark the first time the sophomores are honored in the five-year history of the program. The CCCAA post-season is set to begin on April 28th, with the SCC pairs tournament at LBCC.

In the two wins against LBCC and Rio Hondo, the Mounties won four of five matches against Rio Hondo, with three sets going the distance and the fifth match being a sweep. Against Long Beach, the four Mt. SAC winners won in two sets, with the lone Vikings win being a sweep.

Mt. SAC Beach Volleyball coach Danielle Diaz expressed her pride in the team's ability to adapt and handle pressure, as well as the team's historic achievement of solidifying the first-place title in the SCC. "We were able to take care of business against LBCC for the second time this season and had Rio Hondo right afterward, who we had yet to play this season," Diaz emphasized the team's hard work and dedication, which has placed them in a favorable position moving forward to the team playoffs. "It's such an amazing accomplishment and something that is so deserving for our team who has constantly been putting the work in since day one. We have put ourselves in a great situation moving forward for team playoffs."
