Mt. San Antonio College student-athletes Isaiah Huerta and Hannah Brown have recently been honored with the 2023 South Coast Conference Don MacKenzie Scholarships. Each of them has received an amount of $1,000 as recognition for their achievements. These scholarships are specifically awarded to student-athletes who have excelled both academically and in their sports endeavors. Moreover, they have demonstrated resilience in overcoming challenges and actively engaging in community service.

During Isaiah Huerta's sophomore year, he faced the adversity of a condition called Blebs that resulted in collapsed lungs. Despite this setback, he managed to graduate with a 3.94 GPA while making contributions to the success of the Mt. SAC swim team.

On the other hand, Hannah Brown's academic excellence is reflected by her 4.0 GPA. She played a role in the triumphs of Mounties cross country and track and field teams, which secured four state team championships during her time. Additionally, she achieved accomplishments while skillfully balancing her work commitments and dedicating her time to volunteering efforts.

Hannahs's aspirations lie in pursuing a degree in sports management while continuing her racing career, at Milligan University located in Tennessee.
