Former Head Football Coach, Bill Fisk Inducted into 2016 CCCFCA Hall of Fame

(Visalia, CA) – Congratulations go out to Former Mt. SAC Head Football Coach, Bill Fisk, who was inducted into the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) Hall of Fame on March 12, 2016 at the Visalia Elks Lodge (Visalia, CA).  Fisk joins and exclusive group of former Mounties, including fellow Head Coach Mal Eaton (2014 induction) and former student-athletes; Anthony Calvillo (2015 inductee), Antonio Pierce (2015 inductee), Max Montoya (1994 inductee), Leonard Russell (2006 inductee) and Don Warren (1990 Inductee).

Fisk grew up in San Gabriel, California and attended the University of Southern California (USC) on a football scholarship. A stellar guard, he was member of the 1963 USC Rose Bowl/National Championship Team and garnered a number of individual accolades including first team AP All-American, All-Conference, USC Outstanding Lineman and Co-Captain of the West Shrine All-Star Game.

Fisk began his football coaching career, at Mt. San Antonio College (Walnut, CA), 25 miles from where he grew up. He served as Assistant Coach for 4 different head coaches in 21 years, before becoming Mt. SAC's eighth Head Coach in 1987, until his retirement in 2004.

Fisk guided a number of great teams during his career including his 1997 team which went 12-0 and captured the CCCAA State and J.C. Gridwire and USA Today National Championship.  This was the first National Championship and undefeated football season in the college's 52 year history.  He captured back to back Mission Conference Championships with his 1999 (8-3) and 2000 teams (9-2).  In 2003, he guided his team to another stellar record of 10-2 and once again made the play-offs.

Admired by his peers, Fisk was named California Community College Football Coach of the Year in 1997 and was also named conference coach of the year in 1999, 2002 and 2003.  He has sent hundreds of student-athletes on to the 4-year level and retired from coaching with an overall head coaching record of 126-64-2. After retirement, Fisk continued to stay involved with football, becoming a top high school football official.  Today, he and his wife reside in Colorado, tending to his ranch and livestock.
