Former Mountie Michael Edwards began his tenure in 2016 with his Alma Mater to work with the wide receivers.  As a Mountie, Edwards was the favorite target of Former Mountie Great, Nick Lamaison and two of them led the Mounties to the 2010 State and National Championship.  In the State Championship Game against College of San Mateo, Edwards caught 6 passes, for 67 yards and a touchdown and was named the State Championship MVP. 

Edwards followed Lamaison to the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) where he led the team in receptions (50), receiving yards (657), receiving touchdowns (3) and receiving yards per game (54.8) during his junior season.  During his senior season, he led the team in receptions (51), receiving touchdowns (8) and punt returns (14 for 106 yards).

A graduate of Glendora High School, Edwards lead the team to a Sierra League Championship and earned All-Southern Section Inland Division Defensive Honors.
