Volleyball has a come-from-behind win over Fullerton, 3-1

Angelina Burton for the kill against Fullerton

(Walnut, CA) Behind the first home match of the season with a packed home crowd, the Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball team came from behind to defeat Fullerton College, 3-1, in a non-conference win on Wednesday (August 31).

The Mounties, with their fourth consecutive win to open the season, won 24-26, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22.

"We have such a competitive team and a mentally strong team that I have confidence in each and every single one of them to make a big play," Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball coach Samantha Neely said.

"These four wins have not come easy to us. They had to grow and develop throughout the game. So, I'm proud of these wins so far. It wasn't just handed to us. They have a confidence and a maturity this year, that's even better than last year and something that we're going to grow and develop."

Leading the way for the Mounties (4-0) was sophomore outside hitter Angelina Burton (2 Digs) with a match-high 18 kills, along with sophomore opposite Allison Whiteman (15K) and sophomore OPP Victoria Arnold (12K, 3D).

"(The crowd) felt really good and honestly, it's just like we have a family here at Mt. SAC," Burton said. "Each and every win that we've done, we've earned it and have given it our all.

"We're coming in hard this year. I love the game."
