(Monterey Park, CA) Ranked No. 12 in the state, Mt. SAC (19-5, 13-3) closed out its regular-season schedule with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-14} South Coast Conference win over host East Los Angeles College (5-16, 2-14) on Wednesday.

Key individual performances for the Mounties included JJ Quarrels (15 kills, five digs), Riley DeGroot (20 digs), Riannel Arevalo (13 digs, three service aces), and Ally Euston (six digs).

At the end of SCC regular-season play, Mt. SAC finished in second place behind No. 3-ranked Pasadena City (21-1, 16-0). The Mounties can still capture the SCC title by winning out in the upcoming conference tournament, which begins Friday, Nov. 12, at El Camino College.

On a seven-match winning streak, Mt. SAC is seeded No. 2 in the tournament, thus receiving a first-round bye and an automatic spot in the semifinals. The tournament will be reseeded following the results of Friday's first-round matches between No. 3 Long Beach (13-8, 11-5) and No. 6 Rio Hondo (8-15, 6-10), and No. 5 Cerritos (12-10, 8-8) and No. 4 El Camino (13-13, 11-5).

On Saturday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., the Mounties will face the higher remaining seed from the first round, then will play in either the tournament's third-place match at 2:30 p.m. or the championship match at 6 p.m.
