Mt. SAC blanks Pasadena to remain undefeated in SCC play, runs unbeaten streak to eight

(Walnut, CA) Late in the first half, Karissa Vela scored what turned out to be the game's only score on an assist from Kayla Allen. It was all Mt. SAC (9-2-2, 4-0) needed to defeat the visitors from Pasadena City College (4-10, 1-3) in a South Coast Conference matchup and to run its unbeaten streak to eight.

Goalie Leila Peregrina had four saves in 90 minutes for the Mounties.

In the SCC North standings, Mt. SAC is tied with Rio Hondo (10-1, 4-0). The teams meet at the end of the regular season on Nov. 2. Next up, the Mounties travel to East Los Angeles College (0-8, 0-3) for an SCC tilt on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 4 p.m.
