Mounties remain unbeaten in seven games with 3-0 win over El Camino

(Walnut, CA) With a 2-1 win over visiting El Camino College, the Mt. SAC Women's Soccer team kept its unbeaten streak alive at seven games Tuesday (Oct. 12) in a South Coast Conference North game.

The Mounties improved to 8-2-2 overall and remain unbeaten in the conference at 3-0, tied with Rio Hondo (3-0) in first place.

After a scoreless first half, sophomore midfielder Julia Luceo gave the Mounties a 1-0 lead in the 51st minute on an assist from Fatima Arnold.

Just five minutes later, El Camino tied the game, 1-1, in the 56th minute.

Freshman midfielder Karissa Vela broke the tie in the 78th minute on an assist from Arnold.

Mt. SAC goaltender Leila Peregrina, who won her sixth game of the season, made two saves for the win.

The Mounties host Pasadena City College (4-9, 1-2) Friday (Oct. 15) for an SCC game.
