The Mt. SAC Kinesiology, Athletics and Dance Division proudly announces that Alexandria Lacayo has been officially hired as Mt. SAC’s newest Athletic Trainer (07/17). She becomes the third full-time trainer in the Mt. SAC Athletics Department and will oversee the medical wellbeing for student-athletes on the Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Beach Volleyball, Women’s Indoor Volleyball and Wrestling Teams.
Prior to arriving at Mt. SAC, Lacayo served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Katella High School (Anaheim, CA). She has also served as Head Athletic Trainer at Esperanza High School (Yorba Linda, CA), Hollywood United Football Club, Pomona High School and with the Orange County Flyers Baseball Team. Lacayo is a familiar face in the Southern California area, having served at numerous camps/tournaments and with other institutions, as an hourly trainer.
She is a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training and Indiana Wesleyan University, where she received her Masters Degree, also in Athletic Training.
Professionally, she serves as a Preceptor for the Athletic Training Programs at Chapman University and at Cal State Fullerton.
Lacayo grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently resides in Brea (CA). She enjoys hiking, outdoor activities and traveling.
