Former Mountie Art Guevara enters his second season as head coach of the Mt. SAC Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams.  Guevara has been part of the Mt. SAC Family since 2016 and served as an assistant coach with both programs.  A 23-year PGA Member, he current serves as the Head Professional and Tournament Director at El Prado Golf Courses in Chino, California.  A postion he has held since 2019.

Last season (2003), Guevara led the Mounties to an Orange Coast Conference Women's Golf Championship, a second place finish at the 3C2A State Championship and was named Orange Coast Conference Women's Golf Coach of the Year.

In 1990, Guevara played for Mt. SAC under legendary Coach Ray Adermann.  In 1991, he began his golfing career at Industry Hills Golf Club (at the Pacific Palms Conference Resort) where he started as a phone clerk and worked his way up to Head PGA Professional, before the age of 30.  In 2008, Guevara left Industry Hills Golf Club for the Head PGA Professional position at Black Gold Golf Club (Yorba Linda, CA) for two years, before proceeding to the Green River Golf Club (Corona, CA) for nine years.

A dedicated teacher, Guevara is a mentor to fellow golf professionals and aspiring PGA Members.  He currently directs the El Prado Golf Courses Golfer Development Program which entails teaching programs for both men and women, as well as a very successful junior program.

Art and his lovely wife Meryl reside in Covina (CA), along with their two children.  Daughter Faith is a college freshman, while son Kiko attends Walnut High School where he is a member of the varsity basketball team.
