Since his appointment as Dean/AD in August of 2010, Mt. SAC has captured a prestigious Learfield Sports Directors Cup Championship (2014-15/nations premier 2-year college athletics program), multiple NATYCAA Cup Championships (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023) and one second place finish (2012) in the state association division, making Mt. SAC the premier athletics program among California’s 115  Community Colleges.

During his tenure, in the NATYCAA Cup State Association record books, Mt. SAC set the record for the highest score (187.50 adjusted / 222 non-adjusted) and has also produced the four highest scores in history.

Over 44% (40) of the colleges' 90 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships have come under his watch.

Mt. SAC has also dominated the very powerful South Coast Conference (SCC), capturing an amazing twelve SCC Athletic Supremacy Awards during the Jennum era.

In 2020, Jennum achieved the highest recognition in his field when he was honored as the 2019-2020 Under Armour National Community College Athletics Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), and his excellence continued with him winning the award again in 2023-24.

Jennum has been part of the Mt. SAC family since 1995 and previously served as the Director of PE and Associate Director of Athletics.  As the Director of PE and Associate A.D., he co-administered the division's educational programs and shared oversight of Mt. SAC’s 22 competitive sports programs for men and women.

During his time as Associate Athletics Director, the Mountie Athletic Program consistently finished among the top six in the NATYCAA Cup. Mt. SAC captured the title during the 2008-2009 school year and has finished 2nd four other times during this tenure.  Jennum previously administered the college’s Exercise Science/Wellness Center and Community Education Strength and Conditioning programs.

He currently serves on numerous statewide and regional committees for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).  Jennum served as State Track and Field Management Council Representative for six years and also served as the President of the National Central Football Conference. Within the South Coast Conference, he is the Administrative Representative for Beach Volleyball and has previously served in the same role for Men's and Women's Track and Field, Men's and Women's Basketball, Golf, Cross Country, Swimming and Track & Field. Jennum was also serving on the Executive Committee for the National Association of Two-Year College Athletics Administrators (NATYCAA), as a Past President of the organization.

At Mt. SAC, Jennum has taught various theory/activity courses and has served as an Assistant Volleyball Coach for the Men’s Volleyball Program.

Jennum received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, with a minor in Physiology, from Cal Poly Pomona, where he was a member of the Broncos Men’s Basketball and Soccer Teams.  He received his master's degree in Exercise Physiology from Cal State Fullerton.

He currently resides in North Orange County with his wife Tracey (Johnson), a former NCAA Division I Volleyball Player, and their 2 sons, Eli and Brody.  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching, golfing and is an avid sports fan.
