2018 Mt. SAC Spring Student-Athletes of the Year

(Walnut, CA) Ashley Tse of the Women’s Swimming Team and Jason Harary of the Men's Swimming Team were named 2018 Mt. SAC Spring Student-Athletes of the Year.  Voted upon by the entire Mt. SAC Coaching Staff, these two individuals earned the prestigious honor with their outstanding performances and by leading their respective teams to South Coast Conference (SCC) Championship Titles.

Ashley Tse dominated the pool in her respective events, capturing three individual state championships (200y individual medley, 200y backstroke, 100y backstroke)  and earning nine All-American Honors (5 individual, 4 relays).  Tse produced the #1 time in the country among community college athletes (CCCAA and NJCAA) in two events, the #2 time in one event and top 5 times in three additional events.  Along the way, she earned numerous accolades including South Coast Conference (SCC) Swimmer of the Year, California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Swimmer of the Year and CCCAA State Championship Most Outstanding performance, where she set a new CCCAA State Record in 200y Breaststroke of 2:17.50.  Tse also excels in the classroom, maintaining a 3.57 GPA.

Jason Harary, an all around swimming specialist, was the outstanding male swimmer for the Mounties, capturing a CCCAA State Championship in the 400 yard individual medley and an runner-up finish in the 200 yard individual medley.  Harary earned nine All-American Honors (5 individual, 4 relays) and four SCC titles (2 individual and 2 relays).  He produced the #2 national time in the 400 yard individual medley and the #5 national time in the 200 yard individual medley.  A true student-athlete, Harary boasts a 3.81 GPA.
