2017 Mt. SAC Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet

(Walnut, CA) The 2017 Mt. SAC Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet will induct four outstanding individuals and one legendary team on Saturday, February 11th at the Pacific Palms Conference Resort, in the City of Industry.  Social hour begins at 5:00 pm and the Dinner/Ceremony begins at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $65 per individual and $500 for a table for eight guests.

This year’s inductees include:

  • 1997 Football Team (Team), captured Mt. SAC’s first national and CCCAA State Football Championship, going a perfect 12-0 and creating a legion of legends including Mike Moschetti, Antonio Pierce, Eric Shine and Jerry Wolak.     
  • Deborah Blackmore (Athlete, Coach, Administrator), a pioneer in women’s athletics who spent nearly four decades of her life at Mt. SAC, as a student/athlete, coach and trailblazing Dean/Athletic Director. 
  • Bill Fisk (Coach), former USC All-American Gridiron star who was part of the 1962 USC National Championship Team.  Fisk played briefly in the NFL and then began coaching at Mt. SAC in 1965.  He led the 1997 Football Team to the college’s first state and national football championship.    
  • Larry Richard (Athlete), former Mountie Hoop star who dominated California Community College Courts from 1983 to 1985, garnering nearly every post season honor.  Richard’s continued his career at Texas Christian University and later played professionally in Europe. 
  • Michelle Taylor (Athlete), former Mountie Track Star who led the Mounties to a conference, regional and state championship.  She broke Mt. SAC Records which still stand today in the 800 meters and 400 meter intermediate hurdles.
