(Walnut, CA) Former Mt. SAC Student/Athlete, Alexandra Loakes, is using the knowledge she gained at Mt. SAC, on high school and club soccer fields as one of the top local soccer officials.

Loakes was first introduced to officiating in a Sports Officiating Class at Mt. SAC in 2009.  After completing the class, she joined the San Gabriel Valley Soccer Officials Association (SGVSOA).  Loakes quickly rose up in the association ranks and was named 2013 SGVSOA Soccer Official Of The Year.  She regularly officiates both boy's and girl's high school and club soccer matches.

Last week, Loakes served as the center official for the CIF Southern Section Division One Girls Soccer Championship Game between Tesoro and El Toro High Schools.  Today (03/18), Loakes will officiate the CIF Girls Soccer State Championship Play-Off Game between South Hills and South East High Schools at Covina District Field (Covina, CA).

Loakes also serves as Mt. SAC’s Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach, under her Sports Officiating Class Professor and Women’s Head Coach, Melinda Bowen.
