Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country takes first at SoCal Championships

(Bakersfield, CA) With 53 points, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Cross Country team took first place at the 2022 SoCal Championship Meet held at the Kern County Soccer Park in Bakersfield on Friday, Nov. 4. San Diego Mesa College (82 points) and Bakersfield College (145) finished in second and third, respectively.

In a field of 130 runners on a five-kilometer course, the five Mountie runners who turned in top-30 times included Hannah Brown (18:06.79, 2nd place), Claudia Vera (18:27.17, 5th), Ingrid Tamayo (18:52.53, 13th), Natalyn Membrano (19:20.81, 19th), and Cassandra Apahidean (19:26.63, 24th).

Mt. SAC's 2022 campaign will conclude on Saturday, Nov.19, at the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno.
