Mountie Women's Cross Country takes top spot at SoCal Preview

(Bakersfield, CA) Behind four top-10 finishes and six top-30 placings, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Cross Country team took first place with 34 points at the 2022 SoCal Preview at the Kern County Soccer Park in Bakersfield on Friday, Sept. 23. Host Bakersfield College took second with 98 points while El Camino finished third with 104 points.

Hannah Brown (18:45.1) was the top Mountie finisher, coming in second in a field of 138 runners on the five-kilometer course. Teammates Cassandra Apahidean (19:30.2, 7th place), Ingrid Tamayo (19:35.2, 9th), Claudia Vera (19:44.1, 10th), and Shandy Moore (20:09.5, 18th) rounded out the top-20 placings for Mt. SAC.

The Mounties will take a couple of weeks off before moseying down to San Diego to compete in San Diego Mesa College's Manny Bautista Invite at NTC Park on Friday, Oct. 7.
