Mounties Women's Cross Country Takes Third at State Championships to Conclude Season

Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country - CCCAA State 3rd Place Finish

(Fresno, CA) With 142 points, the Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country team finished third at the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Woodward Park in Fresno. Glendale and Saddleback tallied 66 and 113 points, respectively, to place first and second.

Janiah Brown was the top finisher for the Mounties, turning in a time of 19:15.3 to place 16th in a field of 167 runners. Teammate Sadie Encinas placed 17th, clocking in at 19:20.3.

Other notable finishes for Mt. SAC included Yesenia Flores (19:55.9, 32nd place), Daniela De La Torre Garcia (20:10.4, 47th), Kaitlyn Atkinson (20:12.0, 49th), and Evelyn Peralta (20:15.8, 55th).

The Mounties will return to action during the fall of 2020.
