Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Places Fourth at Southern California Regional Championships

(San Diego, CA) With 152 points, the Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team finished in fourth place at the Southern California Regional Cross Country Championships at Mission Park in San Diego on Friday. Glendale College finished first with 58 points, while Saddleback and Riverside finished in second and third places with 107 and 131 points, respectively.

Sadie Encinas was the top runner for the Mounties, finishing in 13th place with a time of 20:09.9. Teammates Yesenia Flores (31st place, 21:09.1), Kaitlyn Atkinson (32nd, 21:13.8), Daniela De La Torre Garcia (37th, 21:24.8), and Janiah Brown (39th, 21:33.2) were the Mt. SAC runners who finished in the top 40 out of 183 racers.

The Mounties will compete in the California Community College Athletic Association Cross Country State Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Woodward Park in Fresno.at 10 a.m.
