Sadie Encinas to Lead Mt. SAC Women Cross Country in 2019

2019-20 Women's Cross Country

(Walnut, CA) CCCAA 2018 All-American distance runner, Sadie Encinas, will lead a returning pack of runners for the Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team in 2019. With the season underway, Mt. SAC Women's Cross Country Team Coach Daniel Ozan likes what he sees for the upcoming meets.

"We returned a good amount of our top seven from last year," Ozan said.

"Sadie (Encinas) is our top returner as she was an All-American in her freshman campaign. Yesenia Flores and Evelyn Peralta return from the top seven and they bring a great amount of experience.

Encinas finished 13th in state last year with a time of 18:53.4.

"This makes me want to try harder this season and correct the mistakes we had and push through to succeed," said Encinas last year, as she led her team to a fourth-place finish.

"Some incoming freshmen that will help be a force during championship time are: Janiah Brown, Kaitlyn Atkinson and Daniela De La Torre.

The women continue their season this Saturday (Sept. 7) at the Fresno Invitational.
