Mt. SAC Women’s Volleyball Sweeps South Coast Conference Top Honors

(Walnut, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball Team swept South Coast Conference (SCC) post-season honors by placing four on the all-conference team and taking all three top honors.

In her first full season, Head Coach Samantha Neely was named the SCC Volleyball Coach of the Year.  Neely led the Mounties to an overall record of 20-6 (14-4 conference) and runner-up finishes in the SCC Tournament and final standings. 

Freshman Setter Ally Euston (Glendora HS) was named Most Valuable Player, leading the conference in assists per set (8.49) and was 2nd in assists. Euston earned CCCWVCA State Player of the Week honors in October (Week 11).

Freshman Libero Riannel Arevalo (Upland HS) was awarded Libero of the Year. Arevalo led the conference in digs (352) and digs per set (5.03).

1st Team All-Conference honors went to freshmen Outside Hitters Riley DeGroot (Ontario Christian HS) and JJ Quarrels (Colony HS). DeGroot led the team with 289 kills (3rd in SCC) and 334 points (4th in SCC), while Quarrels was right behind her with 260 kills and 289 points (4th and 5th in SCC) respectfully.

Freshmen Outside Hitter Allison Whiteman (West Covina HS) and OPP Michelle Walters (La Salle HS) were named 2nd Team All-Conference.

The Mounties will open post-season play on Tuesday, at home, against a yet to be determined opponent.
