Cerritos hands Mounties second straight loss

(Norwalk, CA) In a South Coast Conference contest, Mt. SAC (6-4, 1-2) came up short against host Cerritos (7-2, 3-0) in three sets on Wednesday, 12-25, 14-25, 28-30. The loss is the second straight for the Mounties.

Bristol Christelman had a game-high 19 digs for Mt. SAC, while teammate JJ Quarrels led the team with seven kills. Ally Euston had two service aces to lead the team.

The Falcons had three players with double-digit digs—Jayda Harris-Amete (16), Breanna Lizarraga (15), and Abigail Gutierrez (13). The hosts also had two players who tallied double-digit kills—Aiyana Sierra (12) and Harris-Amete (10).

The Mounties travel to Wilmington on Friday, Sept. 24, for an SCC matchup with Los Angeles Harbor (3-7, 0-3). Game time is set for 6 p.m.
