Women’s Volleyball Sweeps L.A. Trade Tech, 3-0, in Nonconference Match

(Los Angeles, CA) The Mt. SAC Women's Volleyball team received a much-needed, 3-0, sweep against host L.A. Trade Tech Wednesday night in a crossover match.

The Mounties (3-9) won by scores of 25-7, 25-11, 25-7 and were led by sophomore middle blocker Jordon Wilson with 10 kills.

Freshman outside hitter Sierra Lujan had six kills, followed by five from freshman opposite Kierra Coatney and freshman outside hitter Angelique Lee. As a team the Mounties had 37 kills.

Freshman setter Brianda Valdez led all players with 24 assists and freshman outside hitter Saipeti Fuiava added seven. Valdez also had four service aces. Freshman defensive specialist Malia Carr added eight digs.

Mt. SAC will play Cuyamaca College in the Mountie gymnasium this Friday night, September, 29 at 5:00. They will then host the first annual Mt. SAC Invitational on Saturday beginning with a match at 10:00 am against Imperial Valley College.
