SoCal Prelims: Mountie Women's Track & Field sit in second place

(San Diego, CA) With 23 points, the Mt. San Antonio College Women's Track and Field team finished in second place at the 2023 California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Prelims at San Diego Mesa College on Friday, May 5. South Coast Conference champion Cerritos College came in first with 38 points and host SD Mesa placed third with 16.

Mountie athletes turned in 11 first-place, four second-place, and three third-place finishes on the day.

Amari Weatherford (100 meters), Jaiden Hill (200 meters, 400 meters), Natalyn Membreno (800 meters), Hannah Brown (10,000 meters), Cyvanna Bowen (100 hurdles), Aaliyah Mendoza (high jump), Ahnyx Bush (long jump, triple jump) came in first in their events for Mt. SAC. The 4x100 relay team (Weatherford, Hill, Charisma Collins, Delaysia Allen), and the 4x400 relay team (Trista Michael, Tatiana Sprock, Yasmeen Delgado, Hill) came in first as well the Mounties.

Mountie second-place finishes came from Weatherford (200 meters), Michael (800 meters), Summer Stevenson (triple jump), and Sahira Lepes Sanchez (hammer).

Third-place performances for Mt. SAC included Claudia Vera (1500 meters), Allen (100 hurdles), and Stevenson (long jump).
